Ceramic white tiles were simply an affair of the very rich during the Victorian era. It is during the 19th century that the ceramic white tiles were used to decorate a number of rooms for the affluent. Kitchens and bathrooms were the main rooms to be decorated this way. In a very subtle way, colored tiles found their way and came to take over from the white ones.
